About The Position

The Per Diem Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients and facilitating rehabilitation and independence. Develops and designs treatment plans for physically, mentally and/or emotionally disabled patients. Occupational Therapists enable, enhance and improve patients ability to gain independent, productive daily living and working environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • At least 2 years working with Pediatric OT patients.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and cognitive dysfunctions

Nice To Haves

  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred.
  • Experience with infant and complex feeding and swallowing preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively evaluates and treats all patients
  • Maintains and charts evaluations and progress notes following note writing guidelines
  • Demonstrates knowledge and principles and theories relating to effective patient care.
  • Supervises OT students as assigned
  • Supervises volunteer staff as assigned.
  • Attends appropriate patient rounds, kardexes, conferences; presents information to all present.
  • Maintains equipment and treatment area in a clean, safe and efficient manner.
  • Follows standards of practice/care in the treatment of all patients.
  • Consistently treats the assigned number of patients.
