About The Position

Wee Care Pediatrics is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in Colorado Springs. This full-time position focuses on providing primary care to pediatric patients during extended hours, specifically from 12 PM to 8 PM. The ideal candidate will have experience in pediatrics and a passion for working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or Physician Assistant studies
  • Active Colorado Registered Nurse license in good standing or Medical License through the State of Colorado
  • Colorado Advanced Practice Nursing License with Prescriptive Authority for NPs
  • Certification through the National Commission of Certification for Physician Assistants for PAs
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge in primary care
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to collaborate with other providers and clinical staff
  • Ability to learn and use EHR system (NextGen)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Well Child Check-ups
  • Provide patient education and counseling for all ages
  • Address acute and chronic conditions
  • Triage patients within the office and via phone calls
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess clinical problems and healthcare needs
  • Review lab test results and other reports
  • Refer patients to specialists when necessary
  • Prescribe medication to patients
  • Accurately and promptly document patient care in the EHR system (NextGen)
