About The Position

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PRN) at Hughes Spalding Primary Care Clinic is responsible for providing comprehensive care to children and their families. This role involves assessment, clinical management, education, and collaboration within a team to ensure high-quality healthcare for patients aged birth to 18. The position is part-time and operates on a PRN basis, allowing for flexible scheduling.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in Georgia or licensure as a Physician Assistant in Georgia.
  • Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by ANCC, AANP, PNCB, or NCCPA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 60 days of hire for specific roles.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in pediatric healthcare preferred.
  • Doctorate degree in Nursing Practice or Master's or Doctorate degree in Medical Science.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive patient care management for children of all ages under supervision.
  • Perform comprehensive histories and physical exams, identifying normal and abnormal findings.
  • Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests.
  • Develop pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatment plans.
  • Serve as an educational resource for patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Facilitate patient referrals to other medical providers and agencies as needed.
  • Collaborate and consult with physicians and other healthcare providers as appropriate.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement based on professional practice standards.
  • Accept responsibility for ongoing professional development and maintenance of professional competence.
