About The Position

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking per diem CICU APP (NP or PA) providers to join the growing team at Methodist Children’s Hospital in San Antonio, TX, ideally with experience in CICU or Congenital Heart, though PICU with cardiac post-op experience will also be considered. The Methodist Children’s Heart Institute takes a collaborative, patient-centric approach to care delivery and walks alongside patients and families on their treatment journey. The program leverages support from the Methodist Health System, the leading adult cardiac program in San Antonio, and HCA, as a member of a 4-program national pediatric congenital heart network. The CICU is a dedicated PCICU with care directed by a CICU team with 24/7 coverage, focusing on direct patient care. The team includes attending physicians and advanced practice providers, and there is a universal stay unit with collaborative care among the MCHI team including Cardiology and Congenital Heart Surgery. The hospital has a full complexity congenital heart program supported by dedicated clinical and administrative leads, as well as a dedicated patient navigator and social worker. The hospital also has a full complement of subspecialty services, including ECMO, CRRT, and TPE.

Requirements

• TX medical license or active IMLC license preferred.
• Current APRN national specialty certification required.
• Minimum of a master’s degree and 1 year post-grad clinical experience required.
• Recent CICU NP experience preferred (within the past 12 months).

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the CICU setting.
• Collaborate with attending physicians and advanced practice providers.
• Participate in the care of patients with congenital heart conditions.
• Engage with families to support their treatment journey.
