About The Position

PED's RN's care for children and adolescents' patients who are acutely ill with a wide variety of medical problems and diseases or are recovering from surgery. The Peds unit of a facility is where ill patients go to recover before being discharged. They handle large patient loads, juggle multiple patient populations, and adapt to the ever-changing face of nursing care. Although most PED'S RN's work in the Pediatric unit of hospitals, they can work in a variety of settings includes camps, clinics, schools, and ambulatory care centers.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Must pass the NCLEX to apply for a license as a RN.
• Active state RN license required.
• ACLS and PALS certifications often required.
• Recent experience in pediatric nursing.

Responsibilities

• Care for children and adolescents who are acutely ill or recovering from surgery.

• Adapt to the changing needs of nursing care in a pediatric setting.
