About The Position

Overview: Nationwide Children's - Toledo is seeking a full-time Pediatric Neurologist to join their existing team located in Toledo, OH. The Division of Pediatric Neurology located in Toledo provides hospital call coverage, inpatient/ED consultations, and outpatient clinical care. The successful candidate will join two board-certified pediatric neurologists and two nurse practitioners who currently staff the Toledo location. The clinical team consists of registered nurses, medical assistants, EEG technicians, and registration staff. Qualified candidates for this position must have completed a residency in Child Neurology and be board certified or board eligible in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology, possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to teaching and a desire to help those in the community. Job Description Summary: Provides medical care and treatment to patients. Job Description: Essential Functions: Conducts patient assessments and diagnoses medical conditions. Develops and implements treatment plans for patients in accordance with established protocols. Monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as necessary. Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. Communicates with patients and their families to provide education and support. Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records for each patient and coordinates care with other healthcare professionals. Participates in the training and education of medical students, residents, and fellows as required. Stays up-to-date with medical advancements and research to provide the best possible care.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine equivalent, required.
  • Graduate of an approved Fellowship program if applicable, required.
  • Medical License in the State of Ohio, required.
  • Unrestricted licensed physician, required.
  • Board Certification or eligibility in Pediatrics, required.
  • Prior clinical practice experience may be required based on the needs of the division.
