BrightStar Care is seeking dedicated Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for ongoing roles, offering consistent hours and meaningful, one-on-one care with pediatric clients. The role involves providing compassionate pediatric care, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and administering medications, including J-Tube feeding. Requirements

  • Unencumbered license in the State of Ohio
  • Minimum one year of documented clinical experience
  • Certified CPR/BLS
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Licensed driver with reliable and insured automobile (proof of insurance required)
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Up-to-date vaccinations including COVID-19, Influenza, and Hepatitis B

Nice To Haves

  • Private duty, home care assistance and/or direct care experience at an assisted living or skilled nursing facility is preferred
  • Strong clinical skills
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate pediatric care and assist with ADLs
  • Administer medications, including J-Tube feeding
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality one-on-one support
  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care, assisting with all ADLs (bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting) while ensuring safety and comfort
  • Administer medications via J-Tube accurately and monitor for tolerance, side effects, and effectiveness
  • Monitor overall health and development of pediatric clients, reporting changes to the supervising healthcare team
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all care provided
  • Follow individualized care plans to ensure clients' safety, comfort, and well-being
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the healthcare team regarding care and progress
  • Adhere strictly to all infection control, safety, and hygiene protocols
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a home health setting
  • Perform all skill, treatments, and procedures to the scope of practice as defined in the Nurse Practice Act - Ohio Revised Code (ORC) of clinical practice
  • Implement treatment and plan of care, using sound judgement and critical thinking
  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and timely documentation consistent with the plan of care and the nursing processes
  • Document observed changes in patient's condition, situation, or care environment, and communicate to the Director of Nursing
  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency of employment
  • Adhere to HIPAA laws and ensure confidentiality and security of the client's medical information
