Blank Children's Hospital, a service of UnityPoint Health - Des Moines, is completely dedicated to meeting the unique health care needs of children. Blank Children's is a 108-bed environment that embraces and encourages families to be a part of their child's healing and recovery. Everything from equipment to decor is designed specifically for children. In this role you will join a well-established, multidisciplinary team consisting of 4 other Pediatric Intensivists, pediatric residents, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, dietitians, child life and more. The Blank Health Provider team comprises 150+ pediatric providers spanning 20 subspecialties to provide care for patients throughout the state of Iowa. More about the facility: Blank Children’s is an 88-bed facility, with the PICU being a 12 bed unit, embedded within the core of the hospital – close to the Pediatric ER, Adult ICU and surgery. Blank serves as the only Pediatric Level II Trauma Center in the state and is home to a Level III NICU complete with a Pediatric Transport Team, Neonatal Transport Team and in-house transfer center. The Blank Emergency Department staffs Pediatric Emergency Medicine physicians and sees roughly 27,000 patients annually. Attendings support an ACGME accredited Pediatric Residency Program, which is one of seven residency programs supporting approximately 100 resident physicians each academic year.

Requirements

  • MD or DO
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Hold an unrestricted license to practice in the state of Iowa
  • Eligible to work in the United States (H1-B cap exempt)
  • J-1 Waiver Sponsorship avaiable
