Assigns and coordinates the work schedule for a large group of technicians. Monitors technician activities to support compliance to hospital and department policies and procedures. Participates in interviews with pharmacy technician candidates and selection. Participates in coordination of orientation and training of new pharmacy technicians as well as the ongoing training for new processes or procedures. Position Highlights 24/7 inpatient pharmacy providing care to admitted pediatric patients. Supervises evening and overnight shift technicians, coordinating schedule needs and time-off requests to ensure consistent coverage and operational continuity. Ensures smooth daily pharmacy operations with optimal staffing, workflow efficiency, and regulatory compliance. Staffs as a pharmacy technician at least 50% of the time, maintaining a close connection to the frontline workflow and staying current on departmental processes and implementations. Mentors technicians and interns -fostering professional growth and a culture of accountability. Leads process improvement initiatives to improve operational efficiency in the CORE pharmacy. Champions and advocates for safety innovations and their implementation across the department. Staffing responsibilities to include stocking automated medication dispensing cabinets, compounding both nonsterile and sterile medications, contributing to batch/stat preparation and delivery to bedside, and assisting the pharmacist as needed. Four years of relevant work experience is required. Hospital experience is preferred. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered.
