About The Position

Children's Minnesota is seeking a Pediatric Infectious Disease physician to join their experienced group. The Pediatric Infectious Disease program includes 9 dedicated physicians and 1 dynamic nurse practitioner and boasts a strong collaborative approach where clinical practice, decision making, and sub-sub-specialty interests are encouraged. The ID program cares for children with acute and chronic infectious disorders in the greater area of Minnesota and western Wisconsin, as well as those referred from eastern North Dakota and northern Iowa. Providers are responsible for inpatient and outpatient infectious disease consultations, and ongoing care for patients with a broad variety of acute and chronic infectious conditions. The Pediatric Infectious Disease group serves as principal participants in the Antimicrobial Stewardship program and works closely with the Infection Prevention and Control team. The group also engages in quality improvement projects including clinical guideline development.

Requirements

  • MD/DO with a current Minnesota Medical License or the ability to obtain one.
  • Board certification/eligible in Pediatric Infectious Disease.
  • Clinical competency and expertise in caring for hospitalized children.
  • Strong understanding of examination methodologies and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of common medication, side effects and contraindications.
  • In-depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Respect for patient's confidentiality.
  • Compassionate and approachable.
  • Responsible and trustworthy.

Nice To Haves

  • Particular expertise and interest in the infectious disease interface with CAR-T therapy patients.

Responsibilities
