About The Position

Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is seeking a part time APP that is responsible for managing patients and coordinating services across multiple disciplines. In addition to acute care responsibilities, this APP will assist with the HDVCH blood management program . This program is aimed at improving the care of patients (both inpatient and outpatient) by decreasing the need for blood transfusions through iron replacement and Epoetin administration. Position Highlights: Maintains a collaborative practice agreement with specific physician(s) Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of selected protocols/procedures Provides educational support for patients/significant others, health team members and the community and coordinates QA/QI studies to measure outcomes of care The desired candidate: Is flexible and adaptable Works autonomously and collaboratively Has effective communication and time management skills Welcomes work within a multidisciplinary team Is open to working in a variety of settings

Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Physician Assistant: Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program LIC-Physician Assistant (PA) - State of Michigan CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
