About The Position

Works collaboratively with dedicated and caring hospitalist physician group to provide evaluation and treatment of patients in an established hospitalist program.

Requirements

  • Current WI RN and Nurse Practitioner Licensure
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Possession of a current applicable Wisconsin RN license
  • Meets the requirements determined by the State of WI to perform duties defined as those of a Nurse Practitioner
  • PALS and CPR required

Responsibilities

  • Patient admissions
  • Completing progress notes
  • Patient education
  • Prescribing medications
  • Order diagnostic tests
  • Recommending therapeutic interventions
  • Performing physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of Physician
  • Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs
  • Recording physical findings, and formulating plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition
  • Discussing case with Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan
  • Submitting health care plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by Physician
  • Referring patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment
