Rutgers Cancer Institute, the only National Cancer Institute Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in New Jersey, is seeking a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to join the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. This position offers an opportunity to provide cutting-edge patient care, contribute to the education of future physicians, and engage in groundbreaking clinical research through patient enrollment in clinical trials. The ideal candidate will have the chance to build a busy clinical practice while also developing teaching initiatives for medical students, fellows, and house staff. Academic appointments will be commensurate with experience and will be housed within the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, which includes a resident faculty appointment at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. The Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology is composed of a multidisciplinary team of experts who combine exceptional knowledge and skills with advanced therapies to treat both benign and malignant conditions in children, adolescents, and young adults. The physicians in this division are among the most experienced in the nation, specializing in routine, rare, and complex cancers and blood disorders. Clinical researchers lead innovative trials and actively participate in cooperative groups, as well as industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated trials. The New Jersey Pediatric Hematology Oncology Research Center of Excellence (NJ PHORCE), established in 2021, aims to support laboratory science focused on the biology of pediatric cancer and blood disorders, as well as translational and clinical research to improve therapeutic options for children diagnosed with these conditions. The successful candidate will become part of an innovative team and contribute to the development of the new Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, a state-of-the-art facility that will enhance cancer care in New Jersey. This position is full-time and offers a unique opportunity to engage in teaching and mentorship activities while being part of a comprehensive academic health care system that serves a large population across nine counties.
