About The Position

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank to fill the position of Pediatric Otolaryngology. The candidate should be Fellowship Trained in Pediatric Otolaryngology. This position will join our core faculty in a growing department which has its flagship clinical site at Tampa General Hospital (TGH). The provider would work closely with our current staff members of subspecialists and with the local outreach community. This is a full-time 12-month salaried faculty appointments open rank and carries with it attending staff privileges at TGH. TGH is a level 1 trauma center that serves as tertiary care facility covering south central and west Florida.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
  • For Associate/Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be recognized by authority in the field or specialization.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance current otolaryngology residency experiences by offering center as unique rotation focused on demonstrating multi-disciplinary care and experiences with specialists focused on care of complex pediatric otolaryngology surgery patients.
  • Support resident-driven research experience by discussing pediatric otolaryngology diseases with cohort opportunities
  • Within two years, establish a Pediatric Otolaryngology-fellowship training program
  • Enhance current otolaryngology residency experiences by offering center as unique rotation focused on demonstrating multi-disciplinary care and experiences with specialists focused on care of complex pediatric otolaryngology surgery patients.
  • Support resident-driven research experience by discussing pediatric otolaryngology diseases with cohort opportunities
  • Within two years, establish a Pediatric Otolaryngology-fellowship training program
  • Dedicate clinical efforts to improving medical and surgical outcomes for pediatric otolaryngology patients with a focus on prevention
  • Ease of referral from TGH ER, Brandon Healthplex and within patient radius
  • Engage in broad CME sessions within community to promote center and faculty as thought leaders in the community and region
  • Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher level administrator of a State university.
  • Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities.
  • May be responsible for research and/or academic advising and related activities.
  • May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or statewide committees.
