Full-time position available; mostly days The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is seeking an autonomous, yet team oriented pediatric nurse to work within our multidisciplinary team to provide patient and family centered care. This is a fast-paced outpatient division that provides care to children with Endocrine based disease processes. Nurses work collaboratively with NPs, MDs, and other members of the team to provide comprehensive care involving telephone triage and care management, as well as phone-based patient education and family support. Nurses also provide patient and family education in clinic related to diabetes and use of equipment. Diverse applicants encouraged to apply. Requirements

  • Nurses must have 1-3 years pediatric nursing experience
  • Excellent problem solving, prioritization and communication skills.
  • Must be able to use independent judgment with the support of the NP and MD team.

Nice To Haves

  • Telephone Triage skills and knowledge about Diabetes preferred but not required.
  • Spanish language fluency preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of leadership, is accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards.
  • Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level.
  • Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.
  • Provide patient and family centered care.
  • Provide comprehensive care involving telephone triage and care management, as well as phone-based patient education and family support.
  • Provide patient and family education in clinic related to diabetes and use of equipment.
