The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our growing team. We are looking for candidates with a track record of clinical excellence and academic contributions as demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. This position requires work to be completed onsite, at a designated campus work location. The members of the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes strive to provide excellent clinical care, education, and research through collaboration and an established interdisciplinary team. Board-certified pediatric endocrinologists, certified diabetes instructors, nurses and nurse practitioners, nutritionists, and physicians in training blend understanding, sensitivity, and concern for each child with state-of-the-art medical care. Children and adolescents with the full spectrum of endocrinology concerns are evaluated and cared for, including Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes; growth and puberty development issues; obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome; transgender health; thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary gland disorders; and disorders of mineral and carbohydrate metabolism. Division members are involved in a robust research program that includes clinical, transitional, and basic research in areas related to diabetes, endocrinology, and other metabolic disorders. Members also provide clinical and research mentoring and education to fellows in its ACGME-accredited and NIH T32 supported three-year subspecialty fellowship program. Madison is the second largest city in the state, with a city population of approximately 280,000 and a regional population of over 1 million. The city is within easy driving distance of Chicago and Milwaukee. Madison's technology economy is growing rapidly, and the region is home to the headquarters of Epic Systems, Exact Sciences, and Promega, as well as many biotech, health care IT, and health systems startups. Other large employers headquartered in the area include Sub-Zero Wolf, Lands' End, American Family Insurance, TruStage, Trek Bicycles, and Duluth Trading Company. Madison is rich with cultural offerings, abundant outdoor activities, and one of the strongest local food scenes in the country: from April to October, the Capitol Square hosts the largest producer-only farmers' market in the country.
