Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University Department of Pediatrics are seeking a board-certified, academic pediatric endocrinologist to join our large and rapidly growing endocrinology group. Although a successful candidate will be called on to perform a combination of administrative, academic, and clinical activities, the exact proportions of these duties will depend on the applicant’s interests, experience, and expertise. The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is composed of 23 pediatric endocrinologists, 2 psychologists, 20+ certified diabetes educators, 3 social workers, and a team of 32 administrative and nursing support personnel. Up to six pediatric endocrinology fellows participate in both clinical and academic activities. Emory University is ranked 3rd nationally for NIH funding for pediatric departments. Laboratory space is available in the Department and access to an extensive array of Core Laboratory services is available. And a staff group of clinical research support members supporting investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored trials. Our group offers comprehensive tertiary care to children with diabetes and endocrine diseases. We conduct over 30,000+ inpatient and outpatient visits per year at 9 sites. We offer specialized clinics for children with Turner Syndrome, 22q Deletion Syndrome, metabolic bone disease, hyperlipidemia, brain tumor, thyroid cancer, cancer survivorship, cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and post-transplant diabetes. The Center for Advanced Pediatrics (CAP) is a 260,000 sq. ft., 8-story tower that houses the endocrine and diabetes clinics and a Pediatric Research Unit. Since August, 2018, it has been the hub of the Division’s clinical, clinical research, and teaching activities. As part of our dedication to advanced care, clinical research, education and training, we've expanded our North Druid Hills campus. The centerpiece of this 70-acre campus is Arthur M. Blank Hospital, a 19-story, 2-million-square-foot facility. Thoughtfully designed from the ground up with input from many stakeholders, including clinicians and patients, this is more than just a building. With dedicated conference and simulation space to help train fellows and current employees, state-of-the-art technology and specially designed clinical care spaces, it is a giant leap forward in our ongoing effort to deliver cutting-edge care, improve outcomes and innovate to meet the healthcare challenges of tomorrow. Employment will be in the Emory + Children's Pediatric Institute. The Emory + Children’s Pediatric Institute is an affiliation between Emory University and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta that is improving the lives of children in Georgia and beyond. The Pediatric Institute combines the unique strengths and resources of each institution in support of our three-part academic missions of providing outstanding clinical care, conducting innovative basic science discovery and clinical research, and coordinating exceptional education of the future healthcare workforce. Our physicians, researchers, and educators have created a model where leadership, commitment and quality are fundamental components of success. Together, we are transforming pediatrics by achieving new levels of clinical excellence—driven by research, teaching and wellness. We look forward to our future together.
