About The Position

Nemours Children's Health, Pensacola is seeking a Pediatric Endocrinologist to work in partnership with Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart. The position involves evaluating and treating patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills, adhering to and developing clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric medicine. The Pediatric Endocrinologist will recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients. This role includes accepting patient referrals from other physicians, acting as a consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, and participating in academic programs such as medical education and research as requested. The position also involves rounding with pediatric residents in the area of specialty, providing appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements, and participating in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty including on-call duties.

Requirements

  • MD or DO.
  • Board certified/eligible in area of specialty.
  • Eligible for unrestricted Florida medical license and DEA.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Adheres, contributes, and develops clinical patient pathways to ensure a standardized approach to pediatric medicine.
  • Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accepts patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Acts as consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
  • Participates in academic programs (e.g. medical education and research) as requested.
  • Rounds with pediatric residents in area of specialty.
  • Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeals all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty including on-call.
