About The Position

Bayou Children’s Dentistry is a well-established pediatric dental practice in Houma, Louisiana, dedicated to providing exceptional dental care for infants, children, teens, and patients with special needs. We focus on preventive care, comprehensive treatment, and family education to support lifelong oral health. We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Pediatric Dentist to join our growing team on a part-time or full-time basis. Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school
  • Completion of an accredited Pediatric Dentistry residency program
  • Active and unrestricted Louisiana dental license
  • Eligible to practice pediatric dentistry in the state of Louisiana
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, as required for pediatric dental sedation (if applicable)
  • Experience with or willingness to treat patients with special healthcare needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be organized and possess a superior knowledge of dentistry.

Nice To Haves

  • Board-eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Dentistry (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive dental care to infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special needs
  • Perform routine exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, and radiographs
  • Diagnose and treat dental conditions including caries, infections, and dental trauma
  • Deliver restorative and surgical procedures such as fillings, crowns, pulpotomies, and extractions
  • Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques to ensure a positive patient experience
  • Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, nutrition, and preventive dental care
  • Develop and present individualized treatment plans in a clear and compassionate manner
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative team members to ensure efficient patient flow and high standards of care
  • Uphold all clinical, safety, and regulatory standards
