Pediatric Dental Assistant
About The Position
The Pediatric Dental Assistant will provide chairside assistance to pediatric dentists during various treatments such as cleanings, exams, sealants, and fillings. Key responsibilities include creating a positive and calming environment for young patients and their families, preparing and disinfecting treatment rooms, organizing kid-friendly materials, and educating patients on oral hygiene. The assistant will also be responsible for taking and processing pediatric dental X-rays, managing instrument sterilization, and collaborating with the front desk and clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow. A patient and friendly attitude is essential for comforting and guiding children through their visits.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills and a warm, upbeat personality.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy clinical environment.
- Radiology certification or willingness to obtain.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children (whether in a dental setting, school, or childcare).
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the pediatric dental field.
- Familiarity with Dentrix Ascend or other dental software.
