To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values - integrity, patient-centered, respect, accountability, and compassion - must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day. As a core member of the pediatric critical care transport team (rotor wing, ground) the Pediatric Critical Care Transport Paramedic practices with the critical care transport team members and collaborates with the team to facilitate the coordination of patient care in the transport environment. Through a combination of protocols and direct medical oversight, the pediatric Critical Care Transport Paramedic treats patient and family responses to actual or potential health problems. The Pediatric Critical Care Transport Paramedic is accountable to the patient, family, peers, and the Program Manager. The Pediatric Critical Care Transport Paramedic is expected to perform skills that surpass the level of care provided by prehospital paramedics. Patient and family centered care (PFCC) at YNHH is demonstrated by working with patients and their families based on the 4 principles of PFCC: participation, dignity and respect, information sharing, and collaboration. This includes providing service excellence by creating a great "First Impression" by demonstrating exemplary customer service skills for all customer groups including patients, families/friends, and physicians and promotes a positive work environment.
