About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementation and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, and coordination of care with other health team members. The Colorectal Center at Primary Children's Hospital provides coordinated care for infant, children, and teens with constipation and gastrointestinal motility disorders. We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse (RN) who will be responsible for the coordination of care for the pediatric colorectal patient. The RN is a key member of the multidisciplinary team who provides individual patient education, care management, and coordination of services across the continuum of care. This role is responsible for the clinic aspects of the patient including, but not limited to education, patient care coordination, research, data management, and program development. Full time, 40 hours, clinic hours Benefits eligible.

Requirements

  • Current RN License in state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Practice specific certification as required by the clinical setting (i.e., ACLS, PALS).
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • RNs with less than 12 months of working experience as an RN must obtain their BSN within four years of their start date.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years of RN work experience.
  • Pediatric RN work experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.

  • Performs appropriate assessment of physical, social, and psychological status.
  • Collaboratively develops individualized plan of care using assessment information and critical thinking skills.
  • Directs the interdisciplinary care team via delegation, coordination, and collaboration.
  • Evaluates patient response to interventions and revises plan of care as indicated.
  • Promotes the nursing profession and participates in development of others.
  • Integrates legal and ethical standards into practice.
  • Actively participates in quality improvement initiatives.
