About The Position

As a Part-Time Visiting Professor at Chamberlain University, you will have the unique opportunity to inspire nursing students and help them realize their educational and career goals. You will be responsible for implementing the College's philosophy and curriculum through clinical teaching, planning clinical experiences, and providing direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students. Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing Required.
  • 2+ years experience within the last five years in the practice of nursing as a registered nurse.
  • Excellent communication skills with high level of initiative and prudent judgment.
  • Professional Nurse licensure is required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Implements the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching.
  • Assumes responsibility for all autonomous aspects of individual teaching loads.
  • Plans clinical experiences for and provides direct supervision and evaluation of nursing students delivering nursing care.
  • Makes self-available to staff at the agencies.
  • Evaluates and provides documented feedback to students on performance based on course objectives.
  • Is available for remediation of students as required.
  • Orients and maintains current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations.
  • Develops and posts written clinical assignments consistent with students' knowledge base and individual learning needs.
  • Corrects and returns homework, quizzes, tests, lab assignments, and clinical paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Contributes to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College.
  • May teach didactic course content under supervision of course coordinator.
  • Keeps course coordinator informed of all student and agency issues and concerns.
  • Works with college administration, staff, and other faculty members to improve overall operation and student satisfaction.
  • Participates in the implementation of the College Assessment Program and campus retention efforts.
  • Serves as a professional role model in customer service, collaboration, communication, and professionalism.
  • Utilizes relationship skills in group problem solving and consensus building.
  • Complies with all applicable regulatory rules and standards.
  • Reports to the dean or assistant dean and handles related duties as assigned.
