As a Speech Pathologist, you will perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function of patients. This includes interpreting and reporting test results to facilitate medical diagnosis, providing counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families, and determining therapeutic plans, including the need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy. This position main location is Westlake, may float to Beachwood CCAC building 5, Medina, Middleburg, Children’s Rehab, and Stow Falls. This is a PRN position working at the Westlake Therapy Service Facility. This role can pick their shifts from the following: Monday 3:30—6:30pm| Tuesday 3:30pm—6:30pm| Wednesday: full shift—room open 7:00am—6:30pm or 2:30—6:30pm| Thursday Potential 2:30—6:30pm| Friday 1:30—5:30pm potential full shift with room open 7:00am—5:30pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Select assistive speech devices to improve patient's communication. Perform re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy. Provide observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine the need for other services. Maintain records of all services. Communicate results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such schools and employers. Maintain speech pathology equipment and materials. Assist with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
  • Hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology (Must hold (SP) license in current state upon start date)
  • Hold Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Completed nine-month Clinical Fellowship Year
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
