About The Position

Pharmacy specialists are responsible for medication optimization, profile review, therapeutic drug monitoring, clinical monitoring and participation in a clinical on call program, medication stewardship, medication safety initiatives, teaching and precepting, and otherwise supporting the mission, vision and values of MUSC. The Clinical Specialists provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services to the inpatients and outpatients of the Medical University Hospitals and clinics.

Requirements

doctoral degree in Pharmacy from an ACPE Accredited School of Pharmacy
completion of a clinical pharmacy residency program: Two years of clinical or hospital pharmacy experience may substitute for the clinical pharmacy residency program
SC Pharmacist License (or eligible for SC Pharmacist License)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Must be BLS Certified within three months of hire date and maintain certification throughout employment
Licensed as a Registered Pharmacist by the South Carolina Board of Pharmacy
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required
