Requirements

  • Candidate should be dual-boarded/board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Pediatric Cardiology or Pediatric Critical Care medicine with 1 year advanced training in Cardiac Critical Care or Pediatric Cardiology with an additional year in CVICU/ CICU.
  • Licensed and registered, and in good standing under the laws of the State of Connecticut
  • BC/BE Pediatric Cardiologist.
  • DEA with Controlled Substance required and must be maintained thereafter
  • Candidate should have the ability to lead a diverse group, to work with hospital and academic department partners using a collaborative approach, success in promoting scholarship and funding, and the ability to mentor young faculty

Responsibilities

  • Clinical responsibilities: Will include clinical time in the CVICU, working with multidisciplinary team, be part of team developing and implementation of care protocols.
  • Will be encouraged to actively participate in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Program.
  • Educational responsibilities: Will include supervision, instruction, and mentoring of pediatric residents, and medical students, as well as dedicated CVICU advanced practice providers
  • Research: Clinical research opportunities, development of research programs.
  • Candidates will be strongly encouraged to initiate and/or be part of ongoing QI projects.
