Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our diverse community of over 20,000 Breakthrough Makers. Our team is dedicated to advancing pediatric care and fostering an inclusive culture where every employee feels a sense of belonging. The Pediatric anesthesiologists at CHOP have Faculty appointments at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine and work in a collaborative care team model. We perform 35,000-40,000 annual procedures and are expanding with a new patient tower scheduled to open in 2028. Our department offers incredible expertise in the perioperative care of complex patients, a robust research and clinical mentorship program, and one of the nation’s largest pediatric anesthesia fellowship programs. We are committed to quality improvement and provide extensive education programs, including simulation boot camps and airway learning labs.

  • Provide anesthesia care for pediatric patients across various surgical services.
  • Participate in a care team model with faculty, CRNAs, and fellows.
  • Engage in research and clinical mentorship programs.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Participate in educational programs and training for residents and fellows.
  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
  • Medical License in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and any states practicing in upon hire.
  • Board Certification in Medical Sub/Specialty upon hire.
  • DEA License upon hire.
  • Working knowledge of hospital policies, practices, and applicable regulations.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff and patients.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
  • Experience in pediatric anesthesia is preferred.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement work in a clinical setting.
