About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years of pediatric office experience to join our team as a Pediatric Advice Nurse. This position focuses on providing clinical guidance to parents and caregivers by phone and through electronic communication, and care coordination to support providers in delivering high-quality pediatric are. The ideal candidate has strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy pediatric practice.

Requirements

  • Active PA Registered Nurse (RN/BSN) license in good standing
  • Minimum of two (2) years of pediatric experience in a medical office setting required
  • Experience with telephone triage in a pediatric practice preferred
  • Strong knowledge of common pediatric illnesses, medications, and developmental stages
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and patient education skills
  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize patient needs, and work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide telephone triage and clinical advice to parents and caregivers regarding pediatric health concerns using established protocols
  • Communicate clearly with families regarding treatment plans, medications, and home care instructions
  • Document all patient interactions and clinical advice in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
  • Respond to patient portal messages and clinical inquiries in a timely manner
  • Coordinate same-day sick appointments based on clinical assessment and provider availability
  • Assist providers with reviewing and communicating lab results, test results, and follow-up care instructions
  • Process and manage prescription refill requests according to provider guidelines
  • Monitor and manage patient messages, clinical calls, and follow-ups to ensure continuity of care
  • Collaborate with pediatricians, nurse practitioners, and office staff regarding patient care needs
  • Provide patient and family education on pediatric illnesses, medications, vaccines, and preventive care
  • Always maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
  • Support office workflow and assist with care coordination, referrals, and care management when needed
  • Complete various childcare and school health forms.
  • Write letter of medical necessity for insurance, accommodation and any other required correspondence.
