Pediatric Advanced Practice Provider (Per Diem)- Jersey City Medical Center Job Overview: The Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse who provides health care to infants and children. In collaboration with the Hospitalist Physician the NP has daily responsibility for the assessment and management of patients in high and low acuity. The Nurse Practitioner practices in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a continuum of primary, acute and or subspecialty healthcare to their patients. They enhance the quality of care through education and clinical practice utilizing advanced practice, knowledge and research. The hospital serves as a regional referral and teaching hospital that provides the highest level of care for women and infants, and trauma and cardiac patients. Requirements

  • Education and experience in accordance with local, state and federal requirements
  • Masters degree in APP studies or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience
  • Strong clinical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Current licensure APRN, RN, CDS and DEA
  • Current NRP and BLS certification as required by specialty practice
  • Current prescriptive authority per state regulation
  • Clinical privileges at healthcare facilities as applicable
  • Current APP license and certification from the National Commission on Certification of APPs

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and assessments of patients
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions under the supervision of a physician
  • Develop and implement care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
  • Perform procedures as necessary
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans and health education
  • Stay current with medical best practices, guidelines, and regulations
  • Engage in continuing education and professional development activities
  • Participate in research or quality improvement projects as directed or needed
