Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • Registered in State licensure program (where applicable) or equivalent schooling.
  • Previous optical and retail experience.
  • Knowledge of State/Prov Licensing and Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of current optical theory and practices.
  • Strong communicator and listener to customers and associates.
  • Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Awareness of current fashion trends.
  • Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, caring, patient).
  • Sales skills.
  • Knowledge of store merchandise.
  • Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators.

  • Prior sales training.

Responsibilities

  • Greets customers without delay and shows urgency in providing service.
  • Determines the reason for the customer's visit and explains how to shop at Pearle Vision.
  • Attentive to details; reviews prescriptions and identifies special needs under guidance.
  • Demonstrates adherence to the Neighborhood Eye Care Experience (NECE).
  • Performs work accurately and thoroughly, resolving customer issues quickly.
  • Educates customers on Pearle Vision products, guarantees, and services.
  • Handles tasks such as taking and recording measurements and adjusting or fitting eyewear.
  • Ensures finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
  • Troubleshoots vision issues and determines the correct course of action.
  • Demonstrates good product knowledge and assists customers in selecting frames and lenses.
  • Operates the software system accurately, inputting customer and prescription information.
  • Accurately operates the cashier terminal and collects proper payment.
  • Ensures customer is aware of expected delivery date of eyewear.
  • Maintains the appearance of the store and keeps displays and inventory organized.
  • Informs management of potential safety opportunities.
  • Demonstrates safe work habits.
