About The Position

The Back waiter is responsible for assisting the servers in providing the highest quality service possible to guests while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hours of operation. The Outlet Bus Person must ensure that all tables are kept clean and presentable with clean china, glassware, silverware, and linen.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • Good communication skills, and must be able to speak English.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively handle problems in the workplace.
  • Basic knowledge of point of sales software.

Responsibilities

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance with The Peaks Resort & Spa standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing proper uniform and name tag when working.
  • Comply at all times with The Peaks Resort & Spa standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers and other employees.
  • Keep all work areas clean and properly stocked according to the current meal period.
  • Keep all tables cleaned and properly set according to property specific standards.
  • Provide water to guests.
  • Provide bread to guests.
  • Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dish room area according to established standards.
  • Assist servers by delivering and refilling beverages, pre-bussing tables, marking tables and promptly resolving any guest requests.
  • Remove all trash and recycling from restaurant.
  • Complete daily opening and closing duties and cleaning according to established standards.
  • Answer telephone according to standards.
  • Assist fellow employees as needed throughout the shift.
  • Provide service to guests in the waiter's absence as needed.
  • Maintain beverage levels in glasses/cups on table at least ¾ full at all times (Coffee, tea, soda, lemonade, and water).
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Notify management of any shift where overtime transpires.
  • Maintain TIPS certification.
  • Attend meetings/trainings as required by management.
  • Perform other duties requested by management.
