About The Position

The PE Director supports the CSC Summer Program. This role involves stimulating interest and participation in various subjects like reading, math, nutrition, and fitness among elementary students. The director also assists with maintaining classroom materials and fitness equipment, helps the classroom teacher and fitness director, mobilizes members to attend classes, and helps maintain discipline according to BGC rules. A key aspect is developing a positive atmosphere for members to achieve long-term academic and social goals. Administrative tasks include filing applications, logging pre/post test results, interacting with parents, and communicating attendance with the Data Entry Clerk. The position is responsible for providing quality assurance for the program.

Requirements

• Must be a current college student or college graduate.
• Must have working knowledge of computers.
• Must have working knowledge of interacting and motivating elementary students.
• High level of energy, endurance and patience.
• Comfortable working with different personalities in an informal environment.
• Good reasoning abilities and sound judgment.
• Ability to model appropriate behaviors at all times.
• Ability to address and de-escalate crisis.
• Physical requirements include sight, hearing, sitting for over two hours plus per day.

Responsibilities

• Interact with parents as needed.
• Communicate with Data Entry Clerk with members’ attendance.
• Provide quality assurance for program.
