About The Position

As a PE Development Lab intern, you will contribute to the development of technical products and systems. You will report to the Structures & Fuel Assem Prod Design Manager and be at our Columbia location. This is a paid full-time onsite summer position.

Requirements

• Pursue a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Complete Sophomore year of college

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers and technicians to test and analyze the performance of new fuel designs
• Apply engineering principles and engineering codes & standards, such as ASME and ANSI, to the design and evaluation of systems
• Read and interpret engineering drawings
• Help resolve technical issues for operating and new (i.e., AP1000) nuclear power plants
• Support engineers in the development of calculations and reports to document design and analysis results
• Learn new engineering topics through participation in technical seminars
• Work with engineers within and outside of the United States

• Hourly rate estimated to be $22.69 to $27.50 per hour
