Employment Status: Part-Time Summary: The Elementary PE Teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by helping elementary school students in grades PK3 - 6th Grade develop physical skills, healthy habits, and teamwork. Position Responsibilities: Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church Supports and adheres to the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees and policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters Teach physical education classes - Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons on movement, sports, and fitness Promote physical health - Encourage lifelong fitness, nutrition awareness, and healthy habits Develop motor skills - Help students build coordination, balance, strength, and flexibility Ensure student safety - Supervise activities, enforce rules, and maintain safe equipment use Assess student progress - Evaluate participation, skill development, and understanding of concepts Classroom & behavior management - Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive environment Adapt instruction - Modify activities for students with different abilities or disabilities Collaborate with all stakeholders - Work with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents Instruction Organizing games, drills, and fitness activities Setting up and maintaining classroom and outdoor equipment Monitoring student participation and behavior Recording grades and progress reports Supervising recess or extracurricular activities Administration Assist in selection of PE equipment and instructional materials. Maintain a current inventory of all PE equipment and instructional materials. Oversee process of cleaning, repairing, and storing all campus PE equipment. Other duties as assigned.
