Your Role on the Team Position Summary: The Sleep Technologist performs a variety of sleep studies to diagnose the type and extent of disorders. The Sleep Technologist works closely with patients to diagnose and determine therapy for patients with a variety of disorders related to sleep. Technologists record and score sleep data and prepare raw data for physician and/or research interpretation.

Requirements

  • Registration through BRPT and the Medical Board of California as a Polysomnographic Technologist
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Computer skills appropriate to the job
  • BLS Required
  • Associates degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to function independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • 3 or more years of direct patient care experience in Sleep Disorders
  • 2 or more years experience as an RPSGT
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
  • Digital and Analog equipment experience.
  • BiPAP, AVAPS, ASV, oxygen titration and ETCO2/TcCO2
  • Bilingual in Spanish
  • Basic Arrhythmia Recognition and Treatment training (BART)
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field
  • 6 months working in an accredited sleep center
