About The Position

Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill is seeking a PD Pharmacist to join our team. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $54 per hour. The role requires working one weekend per month, with additional hours available to cover vacation time. The pharmacist will function according to the licensing Board of Registration for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the hospital setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy - Minimum
• Must be a Registered Pharmacist.
• At least twelve (12) months experience in geriatric/adolescent and rehabilitation hospital Pharmacy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as a pharmacist according to the licensing Board of Registration for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Receives, interprets, prepares and fills drug orders as directed by physician(s).
• Refills empty bottles returned from the floor for replenishment as directed by order.
• Assists in maintaining inventory control and annual physical inventory.
• Answers or obtains answers to inquiries from physicians, nursing personnel, student nurses, and other healthcare disciplines concerning adverse drug reactions, dosage, IV incompatibility, and other issues within areas of responsibility and knowledge.
• Demonstrates geriatric and adolescent rehabilitation knowledge.
• Demonstrates appropriate communication/interaction with patients, families, visitors, and employees, taking into consideration age and developmental level.
