About The Position

The Emergency Department at Baptist Health Hamburg is a part of a 344,000-square-foot medical center offering 24/7 emergency care for patients of all ages. The ED includes specialty treatment rooms, an Extended Care Unit for short-stay observation, and access to 24-hour EMS transport, including ALS ambulance support. Our team delivers high-quality, patient-focused care in a modern, collaborative environment. Description PCT (ED): The Nursing Assistant II (Emergency Department Technician) functions within the multidisciplinary team that cares for the ED patient under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse. Demonstrates excellent communication and coordination of patient care/department flow. Working knowledge of appropriate computer functions and systems for assigned duties. Maintains work area to ensure efficient operation and workflow. Collects, process, transports and analyzes specimens according to approved standards of testing per laboratory policies and procedures. Demonstrates proficiency in patient care, according to hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year clinical classes in nursing school and validation of a clinical consistent with level of education.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, applicants must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
