About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (PCT) in the ICU at Baylor Scott & White Health is responsible for providing essential patient care and support under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients in a fast-paced healthcare environment, particularly in the Intensive Care Unit. The PCT will engage in various tasks that include monitoring patient data, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining patient hygiene, all while fostering a compassionate and positive atmosphere.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Preferred: C.N.A Certification or Training, PCT Training, or EMT Training.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as an EMT.
• Enrolled in a nursing program with 1 or more years until graduation.

Responsibilities

• Collect and record patient data and vital signs.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL).
• Answer call lights and complete patient rounds.
• Assist with maintaining files and forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Provide personal hygiene care and assist with patient clean-up.
• Comply with Baylor Scott and White policies and procedures.
