The Joe Lueken Cancer Center is seeking compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. As a PCT, you will play a vital role in providing basic patient care services and supporting various activities within our ambulatory services. Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care services and support activities within ambulatory services.
  • Measure height, weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision screening, drug screens, and point of care urinalysis.
  • Perform reception and clerical tasks.
  • Prepare patient treatment areas for use and clean medical equipment.
  • Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
  • Clean and maintain patient care areas or treatment rooms.
  • Monitor stock levels of medical inventory and restock or reorder as needed.
  • Work with patient registries and identify opportunities to improve patient care.
  • Maintain excellent interpersonal skills while working amidst multiple distractions.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of six months’ experience preferred.
  • Experience in a clinic setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of healthcare, anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and medical equipment/supplies preferred.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
  • Obtain and maintain required department specific competencies and certifications.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers required or within the first 60 days of employment.
  • If working in North Dakota (ND) and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be registered as a Nursing Assistant (NA) through the North Dakota Department of Health within four months from the date of initial employment.
