About The Position

PCT - Med Surg at Providence Mission-Laguna Beach Hospital in Laguna Beach, CA. This position is Part-Time and will work 12-hour Night shifts. The PCT ll is a dual role Patient Care Tech/Telemetry Tech that has the ability to demonstrate the competency to function in either role independently. Under general supervision by the RN, the dual role Patient Care Tech is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area. The Telemetry Tech accurately monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms for adult and geriatric patients, posts rhythm strips and keeps the Registered Nurse and Charge Nurse informed of changes in rhythm. Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• For hires after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program or, Completion of first semester nursing program or, EMT program completion for hires to Emergency Services.
• Hires after 9/2018: Successful completion of dysrhythmia course AND ability to pass rhythm recognition exam test.
• California Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire or, California Emergency Medical Technician License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• Experience with basic data entry.

Nice To Haves

• Satisfactory completion of medical terminology course or Knowledge of medical terminology.
• 1 year of acute patient care experience or, 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical or patient support related to provider patient documentation or charting.
• 1 year - Relevant telemetry tech experience.
