The Patient Care Technician handles various duties under a licensed nurse's supervision. Helps deliver patient care and meet family needs. Follows the care plan, considering the patient's age and development stage. What can you expect to do as a Patient Care Tech? Collects and records patient data, including vital signs. Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring. Responds to call lights and conducts regular patient rounds. Provides personal hygiene care and assists with patient clean-up. Adheres to Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures. Performs glucose monitoring and collects specimens as requested. Will be required to directly support multiple patients during each shift. Other duties based on department needs Tracks and reports quality data for the unit. Completes and maintains files and forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges. Assigns phones and location devices to appropriate staff members. Maintains inventory, requisitions, and stocks supplies and equipment in the work area. Greets visitors and provides assistance. Answers telephones and communicates with the nursing team and medical staff using pagers, and cell phones, based on department needs.
