About The Position

The Patient Care Tech (Inpatient) at Olathe Hospital is a full-time position requiring availability for both day and night shifts. The role involves providing direct patient care and technical assistance under the supervision of a nurse, as well as performing clerical and scheduling functions necessary for unit operations. The position demands excellent communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work with limited supervision while adhering to organizational policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or General Educational Development.
• Previous healthcare experience.
• CPR/AED/BLS certification, with other BLS certification required within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Performs all duties both clinical and non-clinical to prepare for admission, transfers, and discharges.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment by cleaning equipment and using infection control techniques.
• Maintains standards of care when completing and documenting daily duties such as hygiene, vital signs, and nutritional assistance.
• Makes rounds on patients and answers call lights immediately, using excellent customer service techniques.
• Introduces self to patient and family upon arrival to room and communicates appropriate information to nurse.
• Uses technology appropriately for data entry and securing data from the computer system.
• Manages own time and the time of others, prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Contributes to the plan of care under the direction of the nurse.
• Performs professional, clinical, and technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.
