About The Position

PCT and Associate PCT - Telemetry at Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This position is Full-time and will work 12-hour, Night shifts. This is a combined posting for an Patient Care Technician and Associate Patient Care Technician . The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. Under general supervision by the RN, the dual role Patient Care Tech/Unit Secretary provides nursing staff with clerical support to assist in facilitating patient care and is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area. The Patient Care Tech/Secretary is responsible for collecting and reporting information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation. Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Tech is responsible for providing basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed, within their specified area(s) (see below). The Patient Care Tech is responsible for collecting and reporting of information to the supervising RN and completion of all patient care related documentation. Patient Care Techs are assigned as follows: Cardiopulmonary - basic respiratory, cardiology, nursing care, Medical/Surgical/Oncology – basic respiratory, nursing care, and assists with orthopedic devices (adult, geriatric), Resource Float Pool – basic respiratory, nursing care. Requirements

• For hires after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program, or Completion of first semester nursing program, or EMT program completion.
• California Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire. Or California Emergency Medical Technician License upon hire.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire.
• Experience with basic data entry.
• For hires after 10/31/16: Completion of a CNA program, Or Completion of first semester nursing program, Or EMT program completion.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Experience with basic data entry.

Nice To Haves

• Satisfactory completion of a medical terminology course or knowledge of medical terminology.
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, or 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical or patient support related to Provider, patient documentation or charting.
• EKG Training.
• 1 year of acute patient care experience, Or 6 months experience in a direct patient care environment.
