About The Position
Tokyo Central is excited to announce the opening of a new store in Torrance, CA, and we are looking for enthusiastic team members to join our Deli Department. As a Deli Department Associate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our customers have an exceptional shopping experience. We are seeking individuals who have a passion for food and can present our offerings, including sushi, bread, bento, and freshly cooked dishes, in an appealing manner. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a calm demeanor and a strong sense of time and accuracy. You will be expected to connect with customers and work collaboratively with your team to achieve success in the department. In this role, you will be responsible for processing, cutting, and wrapping deli items, maintaining a well-organized back stock and cooler area, and cooking hot meals. You will follow recipes and accurately measure ingredients while ensuring that all food products are displayed properly and meet our quality standards. Customer service is a key component of this position, and you will be expected to greet customers, respond to their questions, and engage in suggestive selling techniques. We are looking for team members who can embody our company philosophy, "The Customer Matters Most," and who are committed to fostering a positive work environment. We value punctuality, attentiveness, and a great sense of humor in our associates. You will be expected to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in both the back room and front displays, and to follow the employee handbook at all times.
