About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining hashboards - the core PCBA components inside Bitcoin miners. The ideal candidate has a background in electronics troubleshooting, advanced-level soldering and rework skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Requirements

  • Advanced experience in electronics or PCBA repair/rework.
  • Basic understanding of troubleshooting equipment, e.g. - multimeter, oscilloscope, power supply helpful but we're willing to train individuals with a desire to learn.
  • Comfortable working with small SMD components under a microscope.
  • Understanding BGA/QFN/LGA rework techniques and thermal management.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.
  • Familiarity with IPC repair standards (IPC-7711/7721 certification NOT required but helpful) and ESD best practices.
  • Good written communication for documenting repairs and collaborating with the team
  • The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who has advanced solder experience using hot air rework techniques with hot air pencil/guns (very limited soldering iron use in this role), hot plate, hand-placing smaller DFN/QFNs, SOTs, 1206/0603/0402/0201 SMD components with lead-free solder.
  • We prefer individuals with intermediate to advanced soldering experience over troubleshooting experience, but are willing to learn basic troubleshooting methods and concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble Bitcoin mining units and safely remove hashboards.
  • Clean PCBs and heat sinks using hand brushes, air compressors, isopropyl alcohol, and other approved methods.
  • Perform diagnostics and repairs at the component level (ASICs, capacitors, resistors, etc.)
  • Remove and replace faulty ASIC (QFN) chips using hot air rework stations.
  • Reapply thermal paste and install heat sinks with correct torque and alignment.
  • Test boards using fixtures (e.g., Bitmain FMS or similar) to verify chip counts, temperatures, and hashrate output.
  • Address hardware faults during functional testing, e.g. - replace PSUs, cables/wire connectors, control boards, etc.
  • Document all repairs, test results, and failure points in accordance with process standards.
  • Maintain a clean, ESD-safe, and IPC-compliant workstation.
  • Help identify recurring failures and suggest improvements to process or parts sourcing.
