About The Position

Overview: Starting Pay of $19.10/HR, can be more based on expereince APA Monday 12:30 pm-4:30 pm (4) Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays 7:30am-4:00 pm (8x3) total 28 hours. Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines. Job Description Summary: Performs basic supportive care to specified patients and families under the direction and supervision of an RN or Care Manager. Collects, documents, and reports data to the RN or Care Manager. Job Description: Essential Functions: Performs clerical office coordination and administrative tasks as necessary. Collects, documents, and reports vital signs. Completes screening questions and documents all items into medical record. Promotes general patient safety and performs minor specimen testing. Holds, positions patients, and assists with procedures. Preps all materials and supplies as needed. Remains compliant with HIPAA, maintains professionalism and ensures confidentiality of patient information. Ensures environmental standards are met and all clinic and patient areas are stocked, cleaned, and maintained. Identifies learning needs, completes continuing education, and participates in offered educational opportunities. Acts as a preceptor and trains other staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy.
  • Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.
  • Active State Tested Nurse Aide License in the State of Ohio, preferred.
  • Current CPR certification (BLS for healthcare provider required), required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate competence as defined in the Patient Care Assistant responsibilities/skills checklist in providing age appropriate care and services to pediatric patients of all ages and selected adult patients.
  • Displays a positive presence and interacts with patients, families, staff, outside vendors, consultants, and physicians.

Nice To Haves

  • Active State Tested Nurse Aide License in the State of Ohio, preferred.
  • One year of patient care experience in a hospital setting within the last three years, preferred.
