About The Position

Triangle, an innovative non-profit organization assisting people with cognitive and physical disabilities, is seeking a Personal Care Attendant (PCA) for the Empowering People for Inclusive Communities (EPIC) program. EPIC was founded in 2011 with the mission of preparing young people with disabilities to be actively engaged community leaders through education, leadership development, and community service. Triangle empowers people with disabilities and their families to enjoy rich, fulfilling lives through support, opportunity, and challenge.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in human services, that includes experience working with youth with disabilities
• Experience assisting people with disabilities with their personal care
• Candidate must have a valid driver’s license or dependable transportation
• Candidate must pass a pre-employment CORI and Driving Record Check

Responsibilities

• Assist EPIC youth with personal care routines as needed (toileting, eating, etc.)
• Support youth by providing needed accommodations to ensure their participation in EPIC programming
• Work with EPIC staff to assist in preparing for programming to make sure the needs of all of EPIC’s young leaders are being met
• Supervise youth during workshops, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities
• Represent Triangle and EPIC to family members, community organizations, and partners
• Provide Program Participants with instruction in performing community service projects and other programming
• Ensure that all personal care assistance provided to EPIC youth fits into EPIC’s self-advocacy model by ensuring that all assistance is youth led
• Maintain proper care, use, inventory and storage of supplies and equipment
• Identify and assist in curriculum development and execution
• Participate in all required training
• Intervene in minor behavioral issues
• Participate in team meetings
• Assist in reaching programmatic goals set by EPIC Executive Director
• Other duties as assigned
