This scholarship program includes: Financial Support: We understand that pursuing education can be costly. That is why we are offering a scholarship to help cover the expenses associated with becoming a Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA). Work Experience: As part of this program, candidates will have the opportunity to work within the hospital environment before starting their formal education. This hands-on experience as a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) will allow you to acclimate to the healthcare setting, learn from experienced professionals, and gain valuable insights into the day-to-day responsibilities of an LNA. Guidance and Support: Throughout the program, you will receive mentorship and support from our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. Whether it is guidance on coursework or advice on career development, we are here to help you succeed every step of the way. DEPARTMENT SCOPE OF SERVICE The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is an acuity adjustable unit providing care to a diverse patient population requiring medical-surgical and telemetry levels of care. In addition, we see higher level of care patients, including but not limited to those on BiPap, titratable drips, or with hemodynamic instability requiring more frequent interventions and monitoring. The PCU is a 24/7/365 service with 25 beds. The team includes hospital medicine, care management, physical therapy and respiratory collaborating together to provide the best patient care possible.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • OSHA Category I - Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.
