About The Position

The position involves providing essential technical support in patient care under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs). The role focuses on assisting patients with daily activities, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients during their hospital stay.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Successful graduation and certification from an accredited patient care assistant program or certified nursing assistant program required.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of basic patient care methods, procedures, and techniques required.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Check vital signs and blood glucose levels.
• Assist with grooming activities including bathing, hair washing, and brushing.
• Change and clean patients with incontinence garments and bedpans.
• Assist patients with walking, getting out of bed, changing clothing, and eating.
• Transport patients to other areas of the hospital for testing or procedures.
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient/guest experiences.
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality.
