About The Position

This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position (72 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour night shifts (6:30pm - 7:00am) on various days and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas in the Medical Acute 2 South unit. In this role, you will be assisting patients with their activities of daily living, performing vital signs, and performing EKGs. This 32-bed unit primarily hosts medical, telemetry, and stroke patients. The team is looking for someone who can work efficiently and collaborate as a team.

Requirements

  • One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with their activities of daily living
  • Perform vital signs

  • Ensure the patient has a safe, organized environment
  • Assist with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician
  • Support the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties
